Bell buys TV community

Bell Media has an settlement to purchase Quebec-based Groupe V Media’s standard TV community and Noovo video-on-demand service for an undisclosed worth.
The transaction is topic to regulatory approvals and does not embody Groupe V’s specialty channels Elle Fictions and Max.
The transaction will add French-language standard TV to Bell Media Quebec’s programming portfolio, a subsidiary of BCE’s telecommunications and media group stated in an announcement Wednesday.
Managed by Quebec’s Remillard household, Groupe V Media is a personal firm that counts three different shareholders, two of that are owned at arm’s size by the province: Investissement Quebec and the Caisse pension fund supervisor. Along with the Fonds de solidarite FTQ, a labour-sponsored fund, that they had a stake of 45 per cent as of 2014.
In 2013 Groupe V introduced the acquisition of the MusiquePlus and MusiMax specialty channels from Bell Media.
Maxime Remillard, Groupe V Media’s founder and president, stated in an announcement that Bell Media will make sure the survival of the francophone standard tv community in a quickly altering market.

Apart from its flagship TV station is in Quebec Metropolis, Groupe V owns stations in Montreal, Saguenay, Sherbrooke and Trois-Rivieres and affiliate stations in three different Quebec communities.
Bell Media owns the CTV Montreal English Channel together with two-dozen different stations in 14 communities.
